Music for Fresh Ears

Susquehanna          Award-winning wind & string trio

"soft, sweet, harmonious and eclectic ... a musical journey to a better place." R Fuller

A unique flute, viola & cello trio, Susquehanna's repertoire includes classical, jazz & popular songs & original music.  Susquehanna provides chamber music to a wide audience, using unusual instrumentation and folk elements.  Founded in the fall of 1993, this trio has received sterling reviews from recent performances. Their repertoire includes eclectic, original compositions mixed with standards from the classical, folk, jazz & other idioms.

The ensemble has performed at festivals, church concerts, private functions such as retirement centers & corporate functions, & wineries. They performed their award-winning original compositions in Boston as part of the Boston-Prague New Music Festival. Their 2001 CD release, Conversations, won an award in March 2003 for "Best Instrumental Album" in Just Plain Folks' 2002 Music Awards, the largest music awards program ever. It also debuted at #3 on International New Age Voice Top 100 Radio Airwaves charts.

At times playful, other times soulful & serious, this music is designed to pique your imagination.  Goethe likened the string quartet to a "conversation among four intelligent people." Each of the voices in Susquehanna is of equal importance. The combination of winds & strings gives a conversational flow of ideas that blend and dissolve, one into the other. Susquehanna takes the traditional roles of the string quartet or wind quintet to new heights, adding orchestral depth to a trio of players.
